Mr. Richard Toolen is Chairman & CEO of Icon and founded the firm in 2006 with proprietary trading colleagues who originally met and worked together at Daiwa Securities Europe in Frankfurt in the late 1990s. Richard has a BA in Economics with honours from Boston University and was awarded an M.B.A. in Finance with honours from New York University. After Daiwa, Richard headed desks at boutique trading houses in Dublin, Munich and Gibraltar before founding Icon as a regulated Swiss entity to expand the scope of the team’s activities to include Multi-Asset trading on behalf of Qualified Investors and to conduct private wealth management activities. Suresh Krishnamurthy is a Board Member and Senior Advisor to Icon and has extensive experience in the Advisory, Real Asset & Technology space. Suresh was previously Senior Managing Director within Global Services for State Street Corporation. He has over 20+ years of product and technology experience in the Financial Services arena across various investment products. Suresh led their Private Markets IT and Strategy efforts with focus on advancing product strategy across their LP and GP businesses. He also led State Streets LP Services business globally.
Prior to that role, Suresh led State Street’s Private Equity Administration for Private Equity/Real Estate and Limited Partner Services in North America as COO.
Suresh holds an M.B.A. with Distinction from the Stern School of Business at New York University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Los Angeles.
Mr. Philip O’Keefe is a Board Member and Icon’s General Counsel providing Icon with a wealth of legal and regulatory compliance experience. Philip has previously held directorships at Jardine Lloyd Thompson PLC in both legal and central operations and provided legal services to Janus Henderson Investors and a number of other asset and wealth managers. Philip has also worked extensively in the insurance, defence and nuclear sectors.
After serving with the British Army in Rwanda and Northern Ireland Philip read double law at Oxford Brookes and was awarded an LL.B with Honours. Philip’ postgraduate study was International Nuclear Law at the University of Montpellier. Philip studied the Bar Professional Training Course and is a member of the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple
